What is augmentation?

17 March 2021

What is augmentation and when do we resort to this method?

Augmentation is a Latin word and in bone it means to add / increase / strengthen bone tissue.

With the loss of teeth, bone tissue experiences atrophy (degeneration), which is a physiological process and occurs in almost 80% of patients who have lost their teeth for a long time.

Successful implantation requires certain volume of bone, which can be restored by the addition of artificial bone. There are many cases with maxillary (highmore) sinus and we apply for a sinus lifting. (bone graft in upper jaw sinus area)

Our clinic successfully and accurately plans bone augmentation of all complexities, the same bone graft, including bone defects, which means the restoration of trapped and deformed bone tissue during various injuries.
